Only a relatively small number of viewers? This sounds in league with Simon Price's allegation that the Manic Street Preachers have no American fans.

I did not watch NBC's version since I don't have decent TV reception.
I saw the NBC one. It was interesting. But obviously I don't have the original version to compare it to. My thoughts on the NBC show were that if the boss' "I think I'm hilarious but I'm actually a total clueless jerk" thing doesn't get toned down after a few episodes, then I'll be too annoyed to watch.
