Has Been

Song in my head:
"Dog" by Ben Folds

Last Friday, I heard William Shatner's version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." It's as silly as I had been told. The chorus of Serio Mendes-like singers wasn't bad though. This morning, I heard his version of Pulp's "Common People." Utterly hilarious. I listened to some tracks off of Has Been and I'm confused. Is he trying to be funny, ironic or serious with his tongue in his cheek? Ben Folds' production and talents are put to good use and Aimee Mann, Joe Jackson, Henry Rollins and Brad Paisley add some flair, but I still can't stop laughing at this. Decide for yourself here.

I recommend visiting www.ifilm.com and watching William Shatner's rendition of Elton John's "Rocketman." It's not as good as Stewie's reinterpretation on Family Guy though.

I have been reading your blogs fairly often and have yet to comment so I thought I would here. I dont have any input on the Shatner thing...I haven't "experienced" it yet, but I would say that I enjoy reading your ramblings as they ar well written, dry, self deprecating and every bit "eric" I know and love.
Hope to see you again soon...call me sometime, or an email of course....thinking about blogging myself now....hmm.

PS - How's the book coming?

I enjoy living in North Dallas/Richardson given its central location, being not too far away from places I have enjoyed going to in my fourteen-plus years living in Dallas County. Living in Lakewood for nine years was critical for me, but I am glad I don't have homeless people going through my garbage, my street getting shut down like it's Mardi Gras on Halloween night, and I don't have to answer to the not-so-friendly landlords who bought my old place. I have a new housemate moving in at the end of the month and I have many reasons to be excited as he's been a friend for many years. Couple that with a humongous  new record store opening in nearby Farmers Branch , shows to see, and a quick trip to Los Angeles for something very cool (for which I reveal at a later date) and I'm happy to say fall is sha...
